These days it is said so often that, in marketing circles, it is almost a cliche'.

And if there is one thing I hate about cliches, it's that they're usually WRONG.

The truth is you may have missed the mark entirely - even if you're already building a list - if you have failed to embrace this most profound truth that I'm about to show you.

One of the most neglected areas of online marketing is sooooo neglected that most people have never even heard of it!

Everyone talks about and writes about and sells products about list building. List Building, List Building, List Building. If you hear or see another article about list building you’re about ready to scream.

Lets face it! List Building IS the most important part of online marketing.

REALLY?

Well, I got caught up in that too. Wait, don’t get me wrong now, List Building IS the most important part of it, but here’s one that’s never even known by most marketers. I’m including the Big Dogs too. You know who the Big Dogs are they’re the guys with big lists, and several products out and lots of affiliate marketing, and making good money at it all. But they’re not the “Gurus.”

I think the difference is that the “Gurus” aside from being around longer, are also the ones who are more mature and understand the whole picture well enough to be able to make the millions and to teach it coherently.

I’m sure you are just like I am. You get 20 to 50 emails a day from the “Big Dogs” all selling you something. Right? Yup! Personally, I’m fed up being their personal ATM machine. Getting about 10 of them sending me 3 to 5 sales letters each every day is really over-kill.

Is that really what Email is meant to be? I don’t think so, do you?

Well, “the money is in the list,” yes it really is. But my mentor, Alex Jeffreys hit the nail on the head when he drummed it into me, that the money is NOT in the list… but in my relationship with my list!

That isn’t Auto-responder A list # 215, that’s Sally Smith, she’s a real person, she’s a mom with 2 small children and she has a real need to make some money on the net. She’s not ATM #215.

Every name on that list is a real person, with real feelings, and usually real needs. They need to be thought of that way, and not as a dollar sign!

If my aim is to help the people on my list, and I think it really should be, then shouldn’t my emails to them be aimed in that direction, and not in the direction of my pocket-book?

Wait. Stop screaming. YES, the purpose of marketing is to make money. But marketing isn’t selling. Selling is something different.

If you are really marketing, the selling takes care of itself. Marketing is a relationship with “the Market,” the consumer community as a whole. You don’t sell to that. You sell to an individual. Thus the money is in the list.

NO, I’m not talking in circles. I want you to realize that the people on your list will respond to your sales letters better and quicker, and even more frequently, if they are first treated like people and individuals with a sense of your sincere interest in them.

Think of it this way, the object of our Blogs, and emails to our list is to get the people to know us. When they know us, they will get to like us, and when they like us, they will trust us.

And when they trust us, they will buy from us. They will trust our recommendations for other products and they will clamor for our own products.

Alex Jeffreys tells about how people used to beg him to take their money in order to get more of the things he was talking about to them. They knew he delivered lots of high quality content. They liked what he said, and how he explained things. They trusted him to deliver as he had in the past products… and thus they wanted to buy from him.

What am I saying here? The most neglected part of marketing online is and has been how to build relationships with the real people on your list. Do the people on your list even know who you are?

OK now you have the idea, and the thought, and your next question is how to do that. I thought you’d ask that.

How would you like more of how to not only establish relationships with your list but also how to maintain your list and understand list management. (did you even know there was such a thing as list management?) Yeah there is and there’s even a lot about it. Not just the techy stuff, but your role in it.

How about these things:
The role of your list
Establishing that relationship
Listening to your list
Reaping the rewards
The rating system
Differences in personal, affiliate and ad content
Building methods
Where most effective lists come from
Your personal touch and much more
How to maximize your list for the most profit

Want to learn more? Just leave a comment and there will be more to come.

Thanks everyone…

Home Based Business Tax Advantages

What does your Internet provider and your auto responder have in Common? Or your membership in a course online? They are ALL free money in your pocket. They are all tax deductible and the money you save will off-set your online income by a considerable sum if you’re making large sums of money on line.

You already know how wonderful it is working at home in your Jammies, without Mr Boss over you, and the long commute now is from the bedroom to your home office. Do you realize how many tax advantages you also get? Here in the United States, many people operate home based businesses just to take advantage of the numerous tax deductions.

The most important rule: ALWAYS get a receipt for EVERYTHING!

Claiming the use of your home in your business can give you some hefty deductions on your tax return. As with anything tax-related, you must meet certain requirements determined by the Internal Revenue Service. However, if you use one room or part of a room specifically for your business, you can receive a significant home based business tax deduction. This can include portions of your utility bills specifically related to that area of your house as well as any relevant home improvements and furnishings.

Your phone and other office services can also provide you with a substantial home based business tax deduction. If you maintain a separate fixed phone line or cell phone specifically for your business, then all costs related to those phone lines can be tax deductible. However, if you use equipment or services in both personal and business environments, it is more difficult to establish a tax deduction. It’s not impossible, but you must meet some fairly strict requirements and maintain good records.

Using your car in your business gives you the potential for another good tax deduction. Of course, you must keep excellent records but you can deduct mileage and car-related expenses that you incur while conducting your business, such as those big bags of cash you take to the bank. With any type of business, other incidental costs come up.

Naturally, you can take deductions for purchases of items such as office supplies, postage, advertising materials and expenses. You can potentially deduct even more by hiring your children or spouse to work as employees for you. This enables you to deduct health insurance premiums and other typical employee-related expenses. This might be a two-edged sword though, as you may have to pay taxes on their wages.

As an online marketer, you have many more deductions than the average Home-Business owner. To name a few that you might overlook, fire up your Excel program, and make columns for each of your online expenses:

Your phone or cable connection

Your ISP

Everything you pay for online

Hosting

Autoresponder

Website expenses

Advertising:

Every site you pay a fee

Sub Contractors: your online workers: programmers, copywriters, graphics and such

The fees charged by your Bank; and online such as PayPal and merchant credit card fees

Affiliate commissions and fees

Monthly courses you belong to

Other membership fees

Video equipment; that expensive video cam and all its parts

Audio equipment (video and this for making online videos)

Don’t forget all their accessories

Other materials you may buy: articles; graphics; copywriters etc

And here’s one your local accountant will certainly miss unless you tell them: Giveaways! Yes, they ARE deductible! Say you sell a product for $97 and on launch day you give bonuses (value) equal to $77. Your income will be $20, and yes you can also give value of more than the price (that’s considered advertising.) Caution: those bonus values need to be the regular price you do sell them for. The same goes for marketers who give bonuses for other marketers products Naturally ALL your computers and the equipment that goes with them. These will be depreciated, but still deducted. And everything in your home office: paper, all office supplies, and don’t forget your printer inks and that type of “small” thing that’s easy to forget.

If you think about it for a while, and check over your receipts, you will probably find more things to cheat Uncle Sam out of.

Check with an accountant or tax professional before you decide on what action would be best. Find all the many home based business tax advantages and deductions available to you. With proper advice and good recordkeeping, your home based business can earn you money other than your online income and you will become even more successful!

We are all excited and revved up raring to go! I invite you to visit their sites, and watch our progress as we go from puny weak guys to Super Marketers. ( I think we get our Red Capes this week… LOL). Links to their Blogs will be on the side navigation bar (hopefully by tomorrow). Be sure to visit them for some really great information and very interesting content.

Next: as a student, I have prevailed upon Alex Jefferies to let me give you… thats GIVE you (meaning like Free)… his 40 page Ebook on how to build your list…quickly! A link to there should also be up in another day or two. Be sure to watch for it! You’ll be as excited as we are with how great it is, don’t miss it, its a going to be Super help for you!

Whew, as if that wasn’t all the news and great things to come enough! But there’s more! I will be starting a new series of articles on what it takes to start your Internet Business from scratch to completion, and how working with a Mentor will help smooth the road. Be sure not to miss that.

I’m excited about this opportunity to say some things from my heart and to give everyone the real scoop about the world of Internet Marketing and making money on the net from home.

With the economy stinking and so many people out of work they are looking for some way of making some additional money. So, turning to the net is almost a natural thing to do.

Can you really make a living working on the net? Oh YES! But its not always as easy as some of the “gurus” would tell you. Do they really make big money and the zillions they are trying to tell you? Oh YES. But they have big companies behind them, and workers who are experts at doing the techy behind the scenes stuff.

My job here is to help you start, and give you some valuable advice and show you where to learn some of the things you need to know. You won’t make $100,000 a week; not even $10,000… but you can start and make a decent amount in a relatively short time.

Join me each week as I present some important and fun things to help you get started. And you can benefit with many of the Freebies I give to help you along the way…

Sincerely, Daylynne
